I've decided to
start keeping a blog on my weight loss journey as a way to keep myself
(hopefully) accountable.
Don't get me
wrong, I've definitely made some good progress.
On January 1st, 2011, I was a whopping 232.2 lbs. Trust me, that's huge when you are only
5'2" in shoes. That was the
heaviest I had ever been and I don't ever want to see that number on my scale
ever, EVER again. This New Years (2012) I
was down to 208, a drop of 24.2 lbs. Not
bad, but not where I wanted to be, you know?
I am now somewhere
between the mid-160's and low-170's (it varies week to week given how good or
bad I'm doing with my exercise and food goals).
My goal is to get down to 120lbs, which means I still have a long way to
go. But I WILL get there.
I've found that
writing about my weight loss efforts helps keep me focused. And I need that focus. It's easy to let things slide and then - BANG
- the next thing you know you've gained ten, twenty, even thirty pounds. Trust me, I know. It's happened before and I don't want it to happen
again.
Keeping this blog
will help me get to where I need and want to be. And if it helps someone else along the way, BONUS!
